Rachael Rothman joins as Head of Hotels Research & Data Based in Richmond, Va.;
Executive Vice President Randall Carroll and Senior Director Ben Klein are based in CBRE’s Washington, D.C. office, specializing in hotel investment sales
Washington, D.C. – April 6, 2021 – CBRE is pleased to welcome Executive Vice President Randall Carroll and Senior Director Ben Klein, who will lead hotel investment sales for the firm’s Mid-Atlantic Division, which includes offices in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Mr. Carroll and Mr. Klein both have an extensive background in international hotel investments and will also focus on growing CBRE’s international investor client base.
Earlier this month, CBRE also welcomed Rachael Rothman as Head of Hotels Research & Data Analytics. Ms. Rothman will also be based in the Mid-Atlantic Division, working in Richmond, Va.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Rothman spent nearly three years in the industry as an executive and consultant as Chief Financial Officer of Apple Hospitality REIT and, before that, as Head of Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations at Playa Hotels & Resorts. Prior to her corporate roles, she worked for 18 years as an equity analyst following the hospitality industry for Susquehanna International Group, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley. She holds the Certified Financial Analyst designation. Ms. Rothman earned her Master of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, her Master’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Cornell University and her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College.
Mr. Carroll joins CBRE after 11 years in hotel acquisitions and asset management at a prominent, Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund. While at the fund, he had primary responsibility for the acquisition, disposition and financing of hotel real estate valued in excess of $2.5 billion. Earlier in his career, he held senior level positions at MeriStar Hospitality, Hilton Hotels, Rosewood Hotels and other public and private lodging corporations. Mr. Carroll is a graduate of Dartmouth, Cornell Hotel School and William & Mary law school.
Mr. Klein has over 10 years of hotel real estate experience and joined CBRE from the Wardman Group, where he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, and fundraising for the investment platform. Prior to the Wardman Group, Mr. Klein spent five years working with Mr. Carroll at the same fund as an Investment Manager within the Global Hospitality team. Before the fund, he worked as an Associate in The Carlyle Group’s U.S. Real Estate group and began his career at LaSalle Hotel Properties. Mr. Klein holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
