Maven Real Estate has acquired the Leidsche Rijn Centrum (LRC) shopping centre in Utrecht in the Netherlands. The shopping centre comprises approximately 125 retail units, covering a total area of around 40,000 m², as well as a parking garage with approximately 1,350 spaces.
The shopping centre was developed to a high standard and was completed in 2018. LRC serves as the heart of the Leidsche Rijn district, which is home to around 50,000 residents. Additionally, the area is still under development, with the addition of more amenities for living, working, and recreation.
Maven Real Estate will be responsible for managing the shopping centre. The company is a newly established real estate platform founded by Mark Debets and Timo van den Noort. The funding comes from funds managed by a leading investment group. With a focus on retail, Maven Real Estate aims to further expand its portfolio in the Netherlands. The company is capitalising on the renewed liquidity in the European retail sector, which offers attractive opportunities for investors.
